Curriculum

The Nurse Leadership Institute (NLI) curriculum draws from the Healthcare Leadership Alliance (HLA) Competency Directory and Kouzes and Posner’s, The Leadership Challenge. The HLA Competency Directory is a tool designed to help educators and healthcare leaders ensure today’s healthcare workers are prepared to meet the challenges of managing the nation's healthcare organizations tomorrow. Kouzes and Posner’s, The Leadership Challenge, provides guidance for leaders to mobilize others to want to get things done.

The twenty-three (23) NLI curriculum objectives are categorized by the HLA’s five leadership domains:
• Leadership
• Communications and Relationship Management
• Professionalism
• Business Knowledge and Skills
• Knowledge of the Healthcare Environment
